Dr. Viktor Mayer-Schönberger is the co-author with Urs Gasser, of Guardrails: Guiding Human Decisions in the Age of AI. Mayer-Schönberger is one of the leading scholars of how data is changing the economy and polity. The book argues that technological solutions can lead to results we don’t always want. They explain how society can provide guardrails more suited to the digital age, ones that empower individual choice while accounting for the social good, encourage flexibility in the face of changing circumstances, and ultimately help us to make better decisions.
He will present an overview of the book, Aaronson will ask a few questions, and then we will open it up to the audience for further questions. Please join us.
